SCHOOL NEWS
We are now a little more than mid-year... The political unrest has affected school some but we are still teaching when we can. We have only missed a few days so far.
The school and children want to thank the teams who donated blue jeans for the girls and young ladies this year, it is a huge blessing for all of us. I especially want to thank Mrs. Anita Butler for finding such a good bargain and,I deeply thank Mr. Rod Pollard for the polo and gym uniform shirts. If you want to help with the blue jeans for our students, we are looking for sizes 2 – 18 in children’s; and, sizes 1 – 13 in young ladies (jr. and misses).
We will take them anytime you send them. BE SURE AND MARK THE BOXES - GOOD SHEPHERD CHRISTIAN ACADEMY. Ship them to: BMDMI, 11 Plaza Dr., Hattiesburg, MS 39402.
Our new for this year Bible program, ICTHUS, has been going very well. The kids and I have some great discussions. In 1 & 2 grades (ICTHUS Benjamin) we are learning about the 12 tribes of Israel and in grades 3 through 9(ICTHUS Legionario - legionnaire) we are studying the armor of God.
CONSTRUCTION NEWS
Build, Build, Build... we are still at it no matter what the political climate. One of our February projects - San Miguelito - will be getting some stucco work soon, after which the project will be complete. We are also pressing on in Dolores and San Nicolas, both June projects... I will give you an update later on when the projects are near completion. We have had one project put on hold - San Francisco - the team cancelled and we are waiting to see if they reschedule. The walls on the project are up and the roof structure is fabricated. We are ready for the team whenever they might come. And, the future project in Mandasta for August is going according to schedule. We will be ready for the team arrival and week of work on the building.
Web News
As the Webmaster for the mission I have been somewhat successful in our war on spam emails going through our server. Earlier this year we had over one million spam emails per month going through the BMDMI email server. We made some sweeping changes and lower the number to one hundred thousand per month. Even more recently, after a few more changes... as of today we are down to forty six hundred... we are winning more than a few battles in the spam war.
We have launched a new Mission Shopping site you may want to check out: www.shop.bmdmi-media.org
There has also been a ton of "Mission Team Videos" posted to the mission site in the height of the team season. Videos from both Honduras and Nicaragua... perhaps you may want to see a few of those too: http://www.bmdmi.org/lives/gallery.html The bottom line is that we are committed to keeping you - the supporters of the mission as a whole - better informed and blessed by your asscioation with our ministries and organization.
