2Co 11:23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. 24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. 25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; 26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. 28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

"WHY ME LORD?"

I would like to have a short chat with the "Believers - Followers - Born Again" who read this...

I was talking with a friend the other day about a current physical problem he had and was confronted with this statement, "Why are all these things happening to me?", the friend stated. "I am a faithful follower of Christ. These things should not be happening to me."

I listened for a while and waited of a pause. Through wisdom not my own I asked, "Why not you?" I began to relate the story that happened to me a few years ago. The end of you finger was torn off by a falling, very heavy, toolbox. My finger was trapped between the box and the tailgate of my truck. A very kind dentist who happened to be on the field at the time sewed it back on for me. Today I am left with a nice scar and little feeling in the end of my finger. I received this injury in the service of my Lord Jesus. Should He have protected me?

I went on to display the scar on my finger to my friend. I said, "When I get to heaven I am going to show this scar to the Apostle Paul. I am going to show him the scars I bare on my body received while in the service of my King."

At that moment...

Paul lowers his garment off his shoulders and turns to show me his back, "Let me show you mine."
(2 Corinthians 11:23-28)

My answer to the question, "Why me Lord?"

Why not you?

Why not me or any of us who serve the Master. If He allows it we should rejoice in it as best we can. We have His word that He is working all things together for our good and His glory.
